The Royal Wedding

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Recently, there has been a great deal of criticism in the news regarding the royal wedding and the English Monarchy in general.  Many are quick and proud to say they have no interest in the Royal family.

~

An essential point eludes so many these days.  That point is the value of cultural integrity and the value of tradition.

~

Cultures culture the people.  When held wisely, they refine mentality, morality, integrity, etc. for every individual.

~

I have heard many anti-tradition arguments which are certainly vogue these days and usually do have their logical component. Yet anything can be justified by the intellect including, it seems, the sterilization of humanity.

~

That is certainly unfortunate and will change as humanity matures.

It’s Amping Up!

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

The Kumbhabhisekam is just around the corner now.

~

At first glance, it seems things are a bit hectic here at Mount Soma as we make all the last minute preparations.

~

However, if you look a bit closer it becomes clear that what feels hectic on the surface is actually a force without bounds silently amping up with unimaginable strength, carrying Mount Soma to another place, time… dimension.

~

That is how it feels… difficult to describe…

~

abstract but undeniable… subtle yet overt.

What’s the best thing you have ever done?

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Driving my daughter home from school the other day, she asked me a lovley question: “What is the best thing you ever did when you were a kid?”

~

I can not remember what I said, but I do remember very well where my mind went…  namely, “kindness.”  I thought of acts of kindness that I did as a kid.

~

This inspired reflection.

~

As an adult, it is the same.  Smart, clever, profound…. they all fall far short of simple kindness.

~

It made me realize that all I do with the school, Mount Soma, the temple, etc. are inspired by kindness.

~

To help our world, to help humanity:  these things all blossom from the seed of kindness… the best thing you can ever do.

Really???

Have you heard the latest ‘theory’ for the cause of autism?

~

Namely: Hypersensitivity to pollutants.

~

Really?  So, it is not the pollutants that are the problem?  The problem is just that people are hypersensitive?

~

If it were one person in millions, well then, maybe it would make some sense. However, autism is becoming epidemic.

~

The mind is a fascinating thing, isn’t it?  Talk about being able to justify anything with the intellect.

~

You can rational-ize anything.

The Akasha

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Though I have been speaking of building an enlightened city for a long time now, anything so unique is really understood or appreciated only when it is actually experienced.

~

That experience is now clearly blossoming at Mount Soma.

~

A silent joy permeates the atmosphere.

~

Akasha is space or the ‘ether.’  It holds the atmosphere or feeling of a place.

~

The akasha at Mount Soma is most lovely.  The future is most promising.

~

We shall prove the validity of Vedic technology as a methodology capable of healing our planet.

Quote

Walter Bareuning, “the world’s oldest man” recently died at age 114.  When asked about his philosophy of life, his response included the following quote:

~

Embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face.

~

I’ll be in San Francisco for the Surya Ram class.  I should be back to Mount Soma by the middle of next week.

~

I very much enjoy the SF classes.

Moo

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

We are continuing to have a fantastic time at Mount Soma.

~

We now have two new residents: Surabhi and her heifer calf Gowri.

~

They can be seen grazing on one lot or another or on the Learning Center front lawn.

~

We are enjoying them, I think more than anyone imagined.
