From Asheville

  • From I-40 West
  • Take exit 24, Highway 209
  • Turn RIGHT/north toward Hot Springs onto NC-209
  • Go 2.3 miles and turn RIGHT onto Upper Crabtree Road
  • Go 2.1 miles and turn LEFT onto Bald Creek Road
  • Continue on Bald Creek Road for approximately 4.4 miles
  • Follow signs to the gate at Mount Soma

 

Alternate Route from Asheville
  • From Interstate I-40 West
  • Take Exit 31/Canton
  • Turn LEFT on Champion Drive/NC-215
  • At the light in front of Ingles turn RIGHT onto Thickety Road
  • Continue straight and it becomes Crabtree Mountain Road
  • At the fork keep LEFT to continue on Crabtree Mountain Road
  • Continue approximately 5 miles until the road ends at Upper Crabtree Road
  • Turn LEFT and take an immediate right onto Bald Creek Road
  • Continue on Bald Creek Road for approximately 4.4 miles
  • Follow signs to the gate at Mount Soma
From Waynesville
  • From US-23/US-74 Great Smoky Mountain Expressway
  • Take Exit 104 NC-209 Toward Lake Junaluska/Hot Springs
  • Turn LEFT onto NC-209
  • Continue to follow NC-209 for 6.1 miles
  • Turn RIGHT onto Upper Crabtree Road
  • Go 2.1 miles and turn LEFT onto Bald Creek Road
  • Continue on Bald Creek Road for approximately 4.4 miles
  • Follow signs to the Mount Soma Gate

Proposed Shortcut from Asheville
There is also a proposed shortcut to Asheville which will allow you to drive there
through beautiful countryside without ever having to venture on to the freeway
